Each piece has been designed to optimize the unique and sometimes challenging playing characteristics of flugelhorns. Like with all Marcinkiewicz mouthpieces the lower the number the deeper the cup. The mouthpieces are also offered with different back bore to optimize sound and tone. The FLB version will have the tighter back bores and create a Bright tone. The FLD version use a more open back bore to produce a Darker tone.
